A beautiful pinkish red and white floral valance from the early 1800’s with a lovely trim. Wonderful to use as is or it could be deconstructed for use of this gorgeous fabric!

A beautiful antique valance! This amazing textile is an antique French printed cotton panel dating to circa 1820-1840 with an even earlier gorgeous trim. This piece would have hung from a ciel de lit around the top of a four poster bed. The graceful design is a beautiful rococo floral pattern with scrolls and butterflies in tones of faded red and pink! The ground is a lovely aged white tone! The bottom edge has a LOVELY handmade trim! This panel is gathered at the top. A truly gorgeous panel ready for hanging again! The cotton is a medium weight, ideal for hanging, pillows, upholstery and many other wonderful, creative uses. ( TT19 ) 

MEASUREMENTS : This charming valance measures just about 12.75 inches by 84 inches long across the top where this is gathered.

CONDITION:  This piece is in as found, not freshly laundered, beautiful condition. There are a few small pale marks and this fabric has gently faded with time. The trim has torn away on one side edge and otherwise has only minor damage. There are little rust spots on the back along the tape where this was originally hung by nails.
