A lovely antique linen towel from the late 1700’s! Fabulous, made from gorgeous heavy and softly worn, nubby and slubby linen!

This wonderful hand woven, antique European hemp linen and cotton towel dates to the late 1700's. This towel is in timeworn condition with typical signs of time and use. This towel is worn very softly, but still has a nice sturdy feel. The linen fabric is heavy weigth, and there is a patch on one edge. The tone is a cool natural oatmeal tone. Each edge is machine stitched with a hem and the top and bottom sides are selvage. There are small loop tabs for hanging on 2 opposite corners of this towel. Great for an authentic rustic farmhouse look! The fabric of this piece would be lovely for small cutting projects, these textiles make stunning pillows, upholstery fabric, etc. (TT50)

MEASUREMENTS : This towel measures approximately 20 inches by 27.5 inches.

CONDITION : This towel is freshly laundered. This fabulous towel has a few orange paint marks, and several other paler marks and rust stains. There are two small holes and this piece is softly worn, unevenly in some places.
