This is a stunning Antique French curtain panel made from the most wonderful blue Vichy check. This curtain is ENORMOUS and dates from the late 1700's. Vichy is an area outside of Paris that produced this gorgeous fabric that became known as Vichy check. Vichy check was the primary furnishing fabric of the late 1700's and early 1800's.  The check colors are lovely, gently faded blues in the tone of what I would call china blue achieved in this case from the use of woad. This large piece was made from sewing together 4 widths of fabric and was once used as a bed curtain panel.  The top has a tape that was used for hanging and 14 of the original metal curtain rings remaining! The check fabric is made from a beautiful linen and cotton mix. This textile has the most gorgeous timeworn appeal, and is generally in wonderful condition for its age. There are some small to tiny holes in this piece, some small to large blotchy pale age marks or dirt marks and discolored areas that may or may not wash fully, however generally in wonderful condition for it's age. This fabric would be stunning used as is as a rustic curtain panel, or lovely for deconstruction for projects such as pillows, light upholstery, small curtains, clothing, duvet covers, shower curtains, etc! MEASUREMENTS : This panel measures about 113 inches by 85 inches long.

CONDITION : This stunning textile is in as found, unwashed condition with light storage dust. It can be easily hand washed and hung to dry, however I've left it in as found condition for collectors. It is beautifully unevenly faded with time. Please see above for more specific condition details. Not in perfect condition, but wonderful condition for it's age!
