This is a set of 2 fabulous antique & rustic towels. These towels are very similar to each other, but they vary slightly in size, condition, monogram etc. Each of these wonderful antique French towels is made from hemp linen and date to the late 1700's. These were both once likely used as bath towels, since they are relatively large, but now they make great dish or hand towels! These country towels have a little very faded red monograms in one corner of the top edge, one reading “LB” the other “CC”! They are in great condition for their age, but they have worn very thin, so there are some small holes and thin spots. The benefit of this thinning is that these towels are delectably soft! The tone is a cool, natural oatmeal off-white tone. Each edge is machine stitched with a hem and the opposite sides are woven selvage. There is a small loop tab for hanging on the center top and bottom edge of each towel. Great for an authentic rustic farmhouse look! These towels have many more years of use left in them but the fabric of these pieces could also be lovely for small cutting projects, these textiles make stunning pillows, upholstery fabric, etc. (TT58)

MEASUREMENTS : These towels each measure approximately 25x43 inches and 26x43 inches.

CONDITION : These towels are freshly laundered. There are some tiny speckled rust or age marks on both of these towels. One towel has 2-3 holes and some thin spots, the other only a few thin spots. Each has a softly worn surface texture. Generally beautiful timeworn and aged condition!!
